We will be providing back to school/ healthy lunch box ideas and have made arrangements for a bike check – make sure your helmet/bike is in top shape for back to school

Greensboro Farmers Curb Market

…fun & educational fundraiser to help  create a sheltered area at the market for our furry friends. The sheltered area will include shaded tent, artificial grass, water bowls and a leash “bar” for patrons to bring their dogs while they shop with us.

  • vendors featuring pet supplies and treats
  • live music by Colin Cutler at 8 am followed by Laura Jane Vincent at 9:30 am.
  • DC Dogs of Burlington with pet food &  Locopops gourmet frozen pops.
  • All Pets Considered and Dog Days Daycare are contributing sponsors

Central Carolina Community College (CCCC) – Pittsboro Campus

Free lunch for the first 500!

  • Chainsaw safety demo by NC Forest Service
  • Gregg Brittenham, farrier, shoeing a horse

Eighth Annual Paw Paw Festival

Food made with pawpaw will be available as long as it lasts. Tours of the extension office pawpaw orchard will be given and lectures are planned on everything pawpaw from folklore to commercializing the fruit in NC. A cooking demonstration is also planned. Authors Andrew Moore and Toby Bost will be selling their books, and trees, seed, and fruit will be available for purchasing.
