Howdy from Texas!

I’ve been in Aggieland (my alma mater–nothing to do with tomatoes!) the past two days attending the Grass-Fed Beef Course. What an info-packed couple of days! One tidbit: Did you know that grass-finished beef typically has yellower fat than grain finished due to beta-carotene in their diet?

Back in the Piedmont, be on the lookout next Wednesday for the first lunch & learn book club with Dr. Deborah Barnes at the Greensboro Farmers Curb Market. On June 1, they’ll explore hunger and the ways governmental food policies’ impact food security.

Sheri Castle; food writer, cooking teacher, recipe taster and developer, will be in the Community Booth sharing her new book, Rhubarb over at the Cobblestone Market in Old Salem THIS Saturday.
