September 28
Open Farm Day
Goat Lady Dairy – 12 to 5 pm
Rising Meadow Farm – 11 am to 4 pm
Free Event – Rain Or Shine – No Pets Please

Twice a year we open our doors and invite you to bring family and friends to enjoy a beautiful afternoon on two local farms. Meet the farmers, goats and kids, sheep and lambs. Tour the gardens, taste the cheese, feel the fleece, hear about local food and farming.  You can even “throw a pot” with local potters at Goat Lady Dairy.  Enjoy live music, sheep dog and shearing demonstrations at Rising Meadow Farm.  Come learn with us as we seek to create a sustainable future together. In addition to selling artisan cheese, wool and yarn, there will be a dozen or more other local farmers at the two farms offering pasture raised pork and beef and a wide variety of artisan fiber products.
October 4
Fall Harvest Celebration
Greensboro Farmers Curb Market – 8am to Noon

As a part of the celebration, Chef Alex Amoroso of Cheesecakes by Alex, will be preparing Pumpkin Pancakes that will feature eggs from market vendor, Ward’s Farm.
Hot chocolate topped with homemade marshmallows will be available for purchase and made by Donya Mullins, local blogger, of ‘A Southern Soul’. There will be beekeeping demonstrations by Quaker Acre Apiaries, activities by The Old Mill of Guilford, and old fashion farming techniques.
Enjoy live music all morning long by Scott Bennett, The Lone Gunman from 10 AM – 12 PM. Scott Bennett is a singer/songwriter from Burlington, NC.

And if you have an upcoming event, let us know (just comment below).

If you know of a place consolidating food or farm info, please let me know! Until then, I’ll provide periodic updates of the happenings in the Piedmont Triad.
